Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador

Deer Lake is a city on the west coast of Newfoundland. It lies on the Trans-Canada Highway north of Corner Brook at the branch to Gros Morne National Park. Named the city is named after the lake, on whose shores it is and got its name from the first European settlers, who called the living there in large numbers as reindeer Deer, the English term for deer.
