History

The Gutsbezirk Degenershausen 1872 deemed equivalent to the Prussian district regulations of 1872 for independent Gutsbezirk and thus a manor. 1928 Gutsbezirk was dissolved by Act of 27 December 1927. The estate belonged to the municipality after Wieserode, now the district of Falkenstein, Harz district in Saxony- Anhalt. Owner of the goods were during this time as Fideikommissherren Hans -Heinrich Freiherr von Bodenhausen - Degener (1839-1912), Eberhard Freiherr von Bodenhausen - Degener (1868-1918) and Hans Wilke Freiherr von Bodenhausen - Degener ( 1901-1937 ).

Originally the territory of the later Gutsbezirks Degenershausen belonged to the Prussian Fiscus, which was managed by the Forest District Friedrich Hohenberg in Ermsleben. In the aftermath of the Napoleonic occupation of the Prussian finances were severely disrupted. For this reason, some areas were auctioned that were unprofitable for the crown. This included the forest district Friedrich Hohenberg. The Amtsrat Johann Christian Degener (1775-1854) acquired in 1834 the forest district of the Royal Prussian government in Merseburg. Other areas were still to buy. In the aftermath residential and farm buildings were erected. A brick factory was built on the road to Meißdorf 1836/37. It was closed in 1914. In 1841, the property gets the name Degenershausen with Forstrevier Friedrich Hohenberg. Degener daughter Amalie (1813-1843) married in 1833 the Royal Prussian chamberlain Hans Constantin Freiherr von Bodenhausen ( 1799-1862 ). The marriage produced seven children. Johann Christian Degener decreed in his will, among other things, that of owning a Fideikommiss is formed, and the heir to the Fideikommiss to name Bodenhausen has the addition, Degener bear '. Another requirement was to erect a monument near the house. The last requirement was implemented as a cast- iron obelisk by the Herzoglich Bernburgische ironworks in 1860 (demolished 1968, rebuilt 1993). The inscription on the obelisk was:

He married in 1925 Anga Countess of Douglas ( 1900-1976 ). The marriage sprang the daughter Reinhild ( 1932). The family grave system in the park is designed in 1920 by architect and writer Rudolf Alexander Schröder and created under his supervision.

In 1919, the Familienfideikommisse in Germany will be canceled. In the period to 1926 the still existing at the Manor Country Park is created. In 1928, the former Fideikommissgut Degenershausen fell loudly Erbvertrag to force von Bodenhausen in Burgkemnitz. This gave it in 1938 to his son Bodo Eberhard. On 3 September 1945, the property was expropriated. After the war expellees were billeted in the Manor, then at times it was a convalescent home for those persecuted by the Nazi regime and then the children's home. In 1953, a central school for the surrounding villages set in the manor house, which was later converted into a Polytechnic High School, which existed until 1972. After that, the house was empty, and fell progressively until it was demolished despite a historical monument. From the farm buildings of the estate is still a barn obtained, which is now used as a visitor center for the park.
