Deiniol Llyr Jones ( born November 18, 1977 in Carmarthen ) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays in the second row. He is active for the Cardiff Blues and has been used seven times in the Welsh national team.

Jones began in 1997 with a degree in chemistry from the University of Bath, where the local Rugby Club Bath RFC was aware of him. After three years in Bath, he was loaned to the Welsh club Ebbw Vale RFC in 2000 and then moved to Bridgend. With the establishment of regional teams in Wales he went to the Celtic Warriors, but were disbanded after one season again. So he came to the Cardiff Blues, where he has been active since 2004.

Jones played in all national youth teams before he made his debut for the men's selection against Samoa in November 2000. Since then, he has been used only sporadically, most recently in June 2009.
