Dej

Dej ( German Burglos or Deesch, Hungarian Dés ) is a city in Romania, located in the county of Cluj in Transylvania, on the river Somes. In 2004, the city had about 38,100 inhabitants. Of these, 17 per cent in 1992 Hungary according to the census. Dej is railway junction with the marshalling yard Dej Triaj.

History

The settlement was until 1918/1920 the capital of the Hungarian county of Szolnok - Doboka. Until 1914, Dej garrison of the Royal. Hungarian army ( Honvéd ) and housed the Honvéd Infantry Regiment No. 32

Under the Treaty of Trianon, the city came after the First World War to Romania and became the capital of the district Someş (Hungarian Somes ), and then from 1940 to belong to 1944, after the second Vienna Award back to Hungary. The Treaty of Paris after the Second World War established the membership of Romania.
