Dejan Ilic

Dejan Ilic ( sr. Дејан Илић / Dejan Ilić; born July 27, 1957 in Smederevska Palanka, Serbia ) is a German scientist and manager. Between 16 April 2007 and June 2009, he was CEO of ARRI.

Professional career

Ilic studied at the universities of Belgrade ( 1976-1981 ) and Dresden ( 1982-1985 ) physical chemistry. In 1981 he finished his studies in Belgrade, followed by 1982, the master France and finally in 2002 the Habilitation in Graz ( Austria ).

1987 saw Ilic for Varta AG, where he is working as a research and development manager. Based on his research at the Universities of Dresden and Graz, where Ilic examined chemical and electrochemical reactions between lithium metals and metal oxides, the scientist directs the technical development of Varta group in new directions: From this point on, the company is focusing more on the development and fabrication of Micro battery systems. 1996 directs Ilic, now Chief Technical Officer, the development of the hitherto most modern plant for the manufacture of micro batteries.

In 1997, he makes a startling decision: Against the ruling in Germany management trend he relocated 500 jobs from Singapore back to Ellwangen. Private life

Ilic is a passionate volleyball as a child. His talent is recognized early and promoted accordingly at Partizan Belgrade. At sixteen he played in the Yugoslavian Junior National Volleyball Team.
