Dejan Lovren

Dejan Lovren ( born July 5, 1989 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a Croatian football player. Since summer 2013 he is at FC Southampton under contract.

Career

In the club

Dejan Lovren 2006 got a professional contract with Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb. Previously, he had played in the youth teams of the club. As was common at Dinamo Zagreb, he was immediately loaned to the Croatian first division side NK Inter Zaprešić until summer 2008. From 2008 he played as a regular player in central defense alongside Robert Kovač and drew attention to himself with his position and heading ability.

In January 2010, Dejan Lovren was from the French series champions Lyon obliged for around eight million euros and received a contract until 2015. Initially he played at right-back in the back four. From the summer of 2010, he was set up as a regular player in central defense alongside the then captain Cris and impressed by his quiet game and good ball control.

In June 2013 joined Lovren for 10 million euros to the English first division club FC Southampton. He signed a four-year contract.

National

2009 was Lovren in the friendly against Qatar his debut in the Croatian national team. Since the resignation of Robert Kovač Dejan Lovren is a regular player. For the 2012 European Football Championship he fell out with an ankle injury.
