Del Mar is a coastal city in San Diego County in the U.S. state of California. It is located on the Pacific coast between Los Angeles and San Diego, west of Interstate 5 in 1882 founded Theodore Loop, a former railway employee, along with his wife Ella a tent city on the beach and named this place Del Mar, according to a well-known poem " The fight on Paseo Del Mar ". In 1910, the Stratford Inn Hotel was built, which quickly became a magnet for Hollywood stars. 1959 Del Mar became independent from San Diego. The town has 4,161 inhabitants ( 2010 census ) in an area of 4.6 km ². Del Mar is known for its racecourse and its beaches.

Del Mar had a legendary skate park in the mid- 80s was closed due to lack of revenue. There began many skaters such as Tony Hawk, her career.

In Del Mar every summer the San Diego County Fair held, one of the largest festivals in the county, which attracts over one million visitors each year.
