Delator

A Delator (Latin actually " bearer, indicator " ) was preferably in the Roman imperial period of the Roman Empire Where a professional informer who made a business of it, to win the favor of the emperor and to gain personal benefits themselves.

History

Especially in the first century AD to spread the mischief of Delaware gates after the reign of Augustus the maiestas was passed by the Roman people to the Princeps.

In general, people were denounced that the emperors were suspicious or even unpopular, especially because of alleged lese majeste. Delaware gates appeared increasingly on under the Emperor Tiberius and practiced afterwards under emperors like Caligula and Domitian their perishable, hatred and suspicion spreading effectiveness while they were suppressed under emperors Titus, Nerva, Trajan, by banishment or other penalties.

Winning a Delators was usually through the act of Dela -tion in a quarter of the defendant imposed penal sum or its dilapidated assets, hence the name Quadruplator.
