Geographical location

Lesachtal is in the Drau valley about halfway between Lienz and Spittal, nestled between the Gail Valley Alps in the south and the Kreuzeckgruppe of the Hohe Tauern in the north.

History

Lesachtal was first documented in 1267 as " Doellach ". Culture and sights

  • The Stone Castle is a well preserved medieval castle on a rocky steeply rising rocks about 200 meters above the valley floor.
