DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan Darnell ( born August 7, 1989 in Compton, California) is an American professional basketball player who is active for the Toronto Raptors in the NBA since 2009. He can play both the shooting guard, and at the small forward position and is therefore also referred to as a swingman.
Career
High school
DeRozan attended Compton High School and played all four years in the school team.
He scored an average of 26.1 points as a freshman and 8.4 rebounds per game. In his second year as a sophomore, he could not repeat his performance from the first year, but still scored 22.6 points and 8.4 rebounds. The following year, his junior year, he scored 22.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in addition also still respectable 3.0 assists and 3.2 steals per game.
In his last year of high school, he scored 29.2 points and 7.9 rebounds and made it his team to a record of 26 wins and 6 losses to lead. In addition, he also won for the second time in a row the championship of the regional high school league. Because of his individual achievements and his impact on his team posiviten 2008 he was also the Most Valuable Player ( most valuable player) elected his high school league.
After his last year of high school, he was regarded as one of the best basketball talent in his class.
College
In November 2007, he gave the University of Southern California in Los Angeles his promise, and thus refused offers the renowned University of North Carolina and Arizona State University.
DeRozan played one year for the University of Southern California. He was the third-best scorer (13.9 points), second-best rebounder ( 5.9 rebounds ), and the third-best assist donors (1.5 assists) of his team. He also had 52.3 %, the eighth best batting average of his Conference.
NBA
On 8 April 2008, he announced that he would sign up for the NBA Draft 2009. He therefore decided not to return to his college team. In June 2009, he was selected as the ninth player from the Toronto Raptors.
2010 Made it DeRozan not in the Rookie Team during the NBA All- Star Game 2010 in Dallas, however, secured a place in one day, following a slam dunk contest. This, however, he lost exactly as Gerald Wallace and Shannon Brown against Nate Robinson. However, DeRozan finished second in this competition. In 2011 he again took part in Slam Dunk Contest for the injured Brandon Jennings. He finished third behind Blake Griffin and Javale McGee, however, found him, according to a survey on " NBA.com " 36% of the fans to the most, at best. In 2014, DeRozan was first appointed to the NBA All- Star Game.
