Demir Demirkan

Demir Demirkan ( born August 12, 1972 in Adana, Turkey) is a Turkish musician and actor.

During his school years in Ankara and Izmir, he experienced his first success with the band Pentagram. After school, he studied English and social sciences, then from 1992 at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles.

After returning to Istanbul in 1996 was followed by further albums with Pentagram

Between 1997 and 1999 he produced, among others, two albums for Şebnem Ferah and a duet of Sertab Erener and Ricky Martin. Appeared in 2000 Demirkans solo debut with Sony Music Turkey. In the same year he took over leading roles in two Turkish television films.

The second solo album was released in 2002, in conjunction with an extensive tour in Turkey.

Demirkan played the lead role in the series " Bir Yerde Besi ", the Turkish version of the cult series " Party of Five" and contributed the theme song for. He wrote and produced in 2003 the song " Every Way That I Can ", the victory at the Euro Vision Song Contest brought in the interpretation of Sertab Erener Turkey 2003. He was elected to the Turkish Man of the Year in 2003 and is the model for the Turkish Lee Jeans campaign.

Demirkans third album "Istanbul 2004" was released in July 2004 Ulftone Music in Europat.

2005 wrote the soundtrack to the film " Gallipoli " by Tolga Örnek

His album " Ates Yağmurunda Çırılçıplak " was released in 2007.

In June 2009 he published together with Sertab Erener Album "Painted on Water ".

In 2011 he released the album " Biriz " along with Sertab, Aynur Doğan and the Antakya Medeniyetler Korusu. For the film Zenne Dancer he wrote the soundtrack along with Paolo Poti.

In 2012 he published a best of album.
