Democratic Choice (Israel)

Ha - ha - bechira Demokratit (Hebrew הבחירה הדמוקרטית, GV " The democratic choice ") is a small party in Israel.

The party emerged from a split from Jisra'el be ` Aliyah by Roman Bronfman and Alexander Tzinker in 1999. The first unnamed group was only Machar (Eng. "tomorrow" ), an acronym for Mifleget Chevra wa - Reformot (German "party for society and reform " ) called, a few months later, ha - ha - bechira Demokratit. In the 2003 parliamentary elections bechira Demokratit occurred on a common list of Meretz and Yossi Beilin Shachar. The fifth list place was reserved for ha - ha - bechira Demokratit. However, Tzinker separated from Bronfman and founded the party citizens and the state. The left Meretz was criticized for her joining up with Bronfman, nevertheless benefited from the alliance. The common list received in the 2003 election six mandates, thus moved Bronfman again in the Knesset. Tzinkers spin-off citizens and the state, however, missed the required number of votes for collection in the Knesset significantly. Even in some local councils ha - ha - bechira Demokratit could move, such as in Haifa. When merged to a party in 2004, Meretz and Shachar, bechira Demokratit remained independent, the joint list, however, was retained. Before the 2006 elections, there were talks on a transfer of large numbers of disappointed Shinui deputy, but eventually founded the party Chetz. ha - ha - bechira Demokratit subsequently went neither in 2006 nor in the 2009 parliamentary elections.
