Demons and Wizards (band)

Demons & Wizards is a power metal band (with Blind Guardian vocalist ) was created as a side project of Jon Schaffer ( guitar player of the band Iced Earth) and Hansi Kürsch and Schaffer's guitar technique combined with Kürschs singing. Besides the two main musicians various session musicians were involved in the two previously released albums yet.

Band History

The first ideas for this joint project originated in 1997, together recordings as Schaffer and Kürsch a song that can be found under the name My Last Sunrise on the debut album. While Kürsch still toured with Blind Guardian, Schaffer prepared before several songs and then started in the summer of 1999, the production of the first album, which was released in 2000 under the name Demons & Wizards.

Until next album Touched By The Crimson King, it took on the basis of commitments Schaffer and Kürschs towards their main bands five years. It was recorded in November and December 2004 and as already mixed his previous album from Jim Morris in February and March 2005. As inspiration for several songs on the album, the seven-volume epic The Dark Tower was the best-selling author Stephen King.

In a statement issued by Hansi Kürsch he announced that he and John Schaffer want on the 70,000 Tons of Metal Festival forge plans for a new Demons & Wizards album and publish it as soon as possible.
