Deng Yingchao

Deng Yingchao (Chinese邓颖超/邓颖超, Pinyin Deng Yǐngchāo, W.-G. Teng Ying- ch'ao; * February 4, 1904; † July 11, 1992 ) was one of the few prominent women in the communist revolutionary movement before the establishment the People's Republic of China. The special role of Deng was based primarily on the marriage with Zhou Enlai, Mao Zedong next to the dominant political figure of the People's Republic of China until 1976. Different, however, than for example with Jiang Qing, to Deng's political career was based on an independent position.
