Denis Komivi Amuzu-Dzakpah

Denis Komivi Amuzu - Dzakpah ( born October 10, 1943 in Kpogame Tahasi, Togo ) is Archbishop of Lomé.

Life

After attending primary school in Tarasi and Tsévié Amuzu - Dzakpah learned in the years 1957 to 1965 at St. Joseph's High School in Lome. From 1965 to 1972 he studied at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome philosophy and Catholic theology. On May 22, 1972 he was ordained a priest, then he was until 1978 a professor at the boarding school St. Joseph de Lome. Between 1978 and 1979 he worked as assistant priest in Aného.

Subsequently, he studied until 1984 for the doctorate in philosophy at the University of Saint Paul in Ottawa, Canada. After his return to Togo, he was until 1997 Spiritual at the major seminary in Lomé, between 1992 and 1998 Secretary Generals of CERAO in Abidjan and Dean and Vicar General subsequently to 2003 in Lomé and secretary of the Episcopal Conference; since 2003, Vicar General of Lome.

On 8 June 2007 Amuzu - Szakpah was by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed as successor of Philippe Fanoko Kossi Kpodzro Archbishop of Lomé.
