Denis Lavant

Denis Lavant ( born June 17, 1961 in Neuilly -sur- Seine) is a French actor.

Life

Denis Lavant gained his first experience at the street theater and then took acting lessons from Jacques Lassalle.

He played his first role in 1982 in the television film L' ombre sur la plage. In the same year he stood for Robert Hossein's film version of Les Misérables for the camera. Then he was seen in various supporting roles, including in Claude Lelouch's film Viva la vie! with Charlotte Rampling. In 1984, he met at work to Boy Meets Girl first time director Leos Carax, in the two subsequent films Lavant also starred. The filming of the third joint production of The Lovers on the Bridge stretched over four years and stressed the relationship between the two artists. The film, in which Juliette Binoche participated, came in 1991 in the cinemas and Denis Lavant brought a nomination for the European Film Award for Best Actor.

The actor was also for some short films before the camera and played in international productions such as 1996 in the South Korean film Wild Animals by Kim Ki -duk.
