Denis Nowell Pritt

Denis Nowell Pritt (* September 22, 1887 Harlesden ( Middlesex ), † May 23, 1972 Barn End, Basingstoke ( Hampshire) ) was a British lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Labour Party since 1918 and from 1935 to 1940 Labour MP. Pritt was established in 1940 expelled from the party because of the advocacy of the invasion of the Red Army in Finland and was from 1940 to 1950 party -less member of parliament.

1933 Pritt Chairman of the " International Commission of Inquiry to investigate the Reichstag fire ", the so-called " London's counter- process " to Leipzig Reichstag fire process.

Pritt received in 1954 the International Stalin Peace Prize and was made an honorary citizen of the city of Leipzig in 1957. In 1965 he was honored with the Star of People's Friendship in gold.
