Denis Petrov

Denis Alekseyevich Petrov (Russian Денис Алексеевич Петров, born March 3, 1968 in Leningrad, Soviet Union ) is a former Russian figure skater, who started in pair skating for the Soviet Union, the CIS and the United team.

From 1987 he started with Jelena Betschke. The couple trained at the famous Russian coach Tamara Moskvina pair of running. In 1989 she won in Paris in their first World Cup immediately awarded the bronze medal. In 1991 and 1992 they were Vice-European Champion and 1992, the last Soviet pair skating champion. The greatest success of the pair was winning the silver medal at the 1992 Olympics behind their compatriots and Artur Dmitriev Natalja Mischkutjonok.

After this success, they stepped back from amateur sport and switched to the professionals. There they were, after they had won from 1992 to 1995 Silver, 1996 World Champion. From 1990 to 1995 Betschke and Petrov were married. Despite their divorce, she still started together with the professionals, among others, the ice show Stars on Ice. Although joined his partner Betschke 2000, from professional sports back, but Petrov joined two more years with Stars on Ice on.

Denis Petrov married on July 7, 2005, the Chinese Chen Lu, the figure skating world champion of 1995. They live in the PRC in Shenzhen near Hong Kong and operated through a skating school. My son Nikita was born on 27 June 2006 and their daughter Anastasia on July 8, 2009.
