Geography

Geographical location

Dennheritz located in a densely populated area on the northwestern edge of the Erzgebirge Basin. The Waldhufendorf is located on Seiferitzer creek, a tributary of the Meerchens. While east of the municipality runs the river Mulde, is located on the western and northern edge of the regional watershed between the river Mulde and splices. The nearest towns are Meerane (2 km north), Crimmitschau (3 miles west), Glauchau (4 km east), Werdau (7 km southwest) and Zwickau ( city center 7 km south).

Adjacent municipalities are the cities Meerane, Glauchau, Crimmitschau and Zwickau, all located in the district of Zwickau.

Dennheritz is divided into the districts Dennheritz, Oberschindmaas and Niederschindmaas.

History

Of the present-day districts first Niederschindmaas was first mentioned in 1237. 1317 there is a documentary proof for Dennheritz and 1405 for a Oberschindmaas. 1529 the Reformation was introduced. 1632 called for a plague epidemic in Dennheritz 100 fatalities.

Incorporations

In 1950 the incorporation of Oberschindmaas, 1973 followed by Niederschindmaas.

1546/51 were counted Inwohner 27, 1598 there were 22 owned (r ) man, 10 gardeners and 1750 35 owned (r ) man, gardener 5, 10 cottagers.

Policy

Parish council

Since the local elections on 7 June 2009 nine seats from the outdoors voters ( 71.2 %) and three seats to be filled by the SPD ( 28.8 %) in the municipal council.

Mayor

Since 1 August 2009, Mayor Frank Taubert, as the successor of Bernd Voigt (2004-2009) in office.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is well connected to the road network. While in the north, the Federal Highway 4 runs along, are also the districts Dennheritz and Oberschindmaas between the national road 175 and the four-lane federal highway 93, which unites with the latter in Zwickau Mosel suburb. Dennheritz lies on the railway line Glauchau Schönbörnchen - Goessnitz, which is part of the mid - Germany connection. The breakpoint, however, was abandoned in December 2011.
