Dennis Brown

Dennis Emmanuel Brown ( born 1 February 1957 in Kingston, † July 1, 1999 ibid ) is considered one of the most famous reggae singer from Jamaica. His work consists of more than 75 albums he recorded since the early seventies until his death. Brown was considered the favorite singer of Bob Marley.

Brown's state of health was harmed in the early 1990s by the massive long-term use of cocaine. In May 1999, during a tour Brazil, the doctors diagnosed pneumonia with him. When he was back in Kingston again, Brown was admitted on 30 June 1999 following a cardiac arrest in the University Hospital Kingston. He died a day later. The official cause of death is called pneumothorax. Brown left a wife and a total of 13 children.
