Dennis Diekmeier ( born October 20, 1989 in Thedinghausen, Verden ) is a German footballer who plays for Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga since 2010, is under contract and can be used as a right midfielder and as a right-back.

Career

In the club

Diekmeier began at TSV Bierden playing football and later played at TSV Verden, before he moved to the youth department of SV Werder Bremen in 2003. For the season 2008/ 09 he was promoted to the cadre of the second team of Bremen, which plays in the 3rd Liga. At the same time belonged Diekmeier also the first-team squad. Werder he came mostly in the midfield to use. In January 2009 Diekmeier joined the then second division side FC Nuremberg and first came there in all games of the season and in two games Relegation used. The Kicker sports magazine named him after the season to become the third best -back of the season.

On the first day of the Bundesliga season 2009/10 Diekmeier was elected to the " Team of the Week " of the kicker. For winter break, VfL Wolfsburg offered an estimated four million euros for Diekmeier. However, the transfer did not materialize. Instead Diekmeier moved in summer 2010 to Hamburger SV, whose home games had it 's own expressions, according to already visited as a child.
