Dennis Endras

Dennis Endras (born 14 July 1985 in Immenstadt ) is a German professional ice hockey goaltender who plays for the Adler Mannheim of the DEL since the 2012/2013 season. He is also a goalkeeper of the German national ice hockey team.

Career

His first steps on the ice, he started at his hometown club in Sonthofen, where he went through all juniors stations of the BEV and the DEB. In 2002 he moved with his brother Patrick to the ERC Sonthofen 99 in the Regionalliga. He was then brought in as replacement for the injured first goalkeeper and former national goalkeeper Udo Doehler to the Bayreuth Tigers. Here he distinguished himself quickly so that the Augsburger Panther were aware of him and took the then 19-year contract. Because he received a mining license, he could 2004/2005 go for the Bayreuth Tigers on the ice.

In his first appearance on 16 November 2004 in Augsburg, which was his first in the German Ice Hockey League at the same time, the Allgäu was able to record a shutout. 3,421 spectators Dennis Endras fended off every shot the Hannover Scorpions. The agreement extended the Panthers lead back in February 2005. For the 2005/ 06 season Dennis Endras had a mining license for the league team from Landsberg am Lech. For the 2006/07 season he signed a one-year contract with the Frankfurt Lions, which in turn furnished them him with a mining license for the EV Landsberg 2000. In 45 games with the EVL 2000 Endras conceded 118 goals, an average of 2.91 goals per game. For the 2007 /08 season Endras signed a contract with the EV Landsberg 2000.

In January 2008, the 22 -year-old accepted the offer of Ravensburg Tower Stars and received a mining license for the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Since September 2008 he has been first-choice goalkeeper in the DEL team Augsburger Panther. In the early summer of 2010 he was taken for two years by the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League contract, in the 2010/11 season he was loaned to the Augsburger Panther. He was before the 2011/12 season in Minnesota's farm team, the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, sent from where he was transferred on loan to Helsinki at Helsingfors IFK. Since the 2012/2013 season he plays for the Adler Mannheim.

Internationally

Endras participated with the German national team at the Germany Cup 2008 and at the World Championships in 2009 and 2010, where he at the opening and world record game in Gelsenkirchen Veltins- Arena in front of 77,803 spectators after 60:21 minutes in the 2-1 victory after extra time against the United States was voted the best German players. Even in the 1-0 quarter-final victory against Switzerland Endras was elected with 41 held shots at the best German players of the game. After the defeat in the semi-final against Russia Endras was awarded the title of Best German World Cup players of 2010. He also was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament and awarded the most valuable player. He is the first German player who won the award as MVP in a World Cup. In addition Endras was appointed to the All- Star team of the tournament.
