Dennis Frederiksen

Dennis Hardy " Fergie " Frederiksen ( born May 25, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan; † January 18, 2014 ) was an American singer.

Career

He grew up in his birthplace, Frederiksen noticed early his talent for singing and for the stage. Already as a teenager he sang in many public appearances. 1975 he moved to Chicago, where he joined the band "MS Funk" joined. Their lead singer Tommy Shaw was a friend of Frederiksen and asked him to replace him because he joined another band. A short time later he met the very popular producer and songwriter Pat Leonard and founded the band trillion.

1979 left Frederiksen trillion and joined another rock band. Best Merits of the band Leroux were the hit single Lifeline as well as the album So Fired Up, which was released in 1983. During his time at Leroux he also worked as a singer and songwriter in Los Angeles, among other things, with his friend, bassist Ricky Phillips and the rock band Survivor.

Phillips was also the drummer of Toto, Jeff Porcaro, a videotape with footage of Frederiksen handed 1984. Although Frederiksen went to this time to Europe to work in Germany, but Toto wanted to engage him in any case as a replacement for the retired lead singer Bobby Kimball. He was recalled to America to record their fifth album, Isolation (1984 ) with Toto.

2005 Frederiksen hepatitis C disease was found. Despite the illness, he worked with Denander on his last album and with Ricky Phillips in the studio. In order to help other people in the fight against the disease, he founded the Fergie Frederiksen Foundation, which raises funds including within the framework of concerts and supports research. In 2010 it was announced that Frederiksen was suffering from liver cancer. On January 18, 2014, he succumbed to the disease.
