Dennis Siver

Dennis Siver ( born January 13, 1979 in Omsk ) is a German mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in the featherweight UFC. He is on the scale of the magazine GroundAndPound the No. 1 featherweight MMA fighter in Europe and the first German who has received a contract with the UFC.

Life

Siver was born a German from Russia in Omsk. His first battles took place in Germany and England on small local events. Most often he fought then for Cage Warriors and achieved three wins in four fights there. A victory even against the heavily favored professional fighter Jim Wallhead.

After this success, the UFC showed interest in him and let him at UFC 70 fight against Jess Liaudin. Siver lost after 81 seconds in the first fight by task. His next appearance came at UFC 75 against Naoyuki Kotani, he KOs defeated in the second round, but then lost at UFC Fight Night 12 against the previously undefeated Gray Maynard by unanimous points decision. After at UFC 86 against Melvin Guillard after only 36 seconds its up today (October 2010) forfeited only knockout loss, Siver left the UFC.

Siver then joined Temple: Mix Fight Gala VII against Chas Jacquier and defeated by this task in the first round. Then, six months after leaving the UFC, he returned to this at UFC 93. Siver was able to record wins against Nate Mohr, Dale Hartt, Paul Kelly and Spencer Fisher, but also lost a fight against Ross Pearson.

At UFC 122 on November 13, 2010 in Oberhausen Siver went up against Andre Winner and forced him in the first round to the task. 27 February 2011 Siver won by unanimous decision of the Jury at UFC 127 against the counterparty George Sotiropoulos. At UFC 132 Siver won a unanimous decision against Matt Wiman.

Siver was supposed to fight at UFC 137 against Canadian Sam Stout, but withdrew from the fight due to the death of his coach. Instead Siver ran against American Donald Cerrone. Siver was taken early by a shocking head kick and brought a short time later with a rear- naked choke for the task.

After the defeat, Siver decided for a change to the featherweight because he which bedeviled sizes and range disadvantages Lightweight becoming more and he was looking for a new motivation. On April 14, 2012 Dennis Siver his debut featherweight and defeated Diego Nunes by unanimous decision.

Siver should compete at UFC 151 against the Hawaiian Eddie Yagin. Since the event was canceled due to a short breakdown in the main battle and Yagin injured before a scheduled fight at UFC on Fox 5, Siver met on 8 December 2012 in the said event on Nam Phan. Siver dominated his opponent over the full distance and secured a unanimous points victory.

On February 16, 2013 Siver should meet at UFC on Fuel TV on 7 Cub Swanson. However, he withdrew during the preparation of a medial meniscus tear and had to cancel the fight. The fight against Swanson was rescheduled for UFC 162 in Las Vegas on July 8. Siver lost the match by TKO in the third round.

At UFC 168 Siver then met Manvel Gamburyan and secured a unanimous victory on points.
