Denny Cordell

Denny Cordell ( born 1943 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, † February 18, 1995 in Dublin, Ireland ) was a British music producer and horse breeder.

Life

Cordell grew up in England. At age 21, he met Chris Blackwell know who just built his label Iceland Records and began working as a producer for him. After he began to work more closely with the Moody Blues, he left Iceland and started his own business as a producer. He worked in the 1960s and 1970s with bands and musicians such as The Move, Georgie Fame, Procol Harum ( A Whiter Shade of Pale which he produced in April 1967), Manfred Mann and Joe Cocker (With a little help from my friends). Nik Cohn described him in 1969 as the most successful new English producer since Mickie Most. He is considered the discoverer of producer Tony Visconti. In the 1980s, he turned to his second area of ​​interest, the horse race, too. In the 1990s, he again worked as a record producer for Iceland, including for the Cranberries.
