Denny Crum

Denzil E. " Denny " Crum ( born March 5, 1937 in San Fernando, California ) is a retired American basketball coach.

Crum began his coaching career as an assistant coach John Wooden at UCLA.

He coached 1971-2001 the team from the University of Louisville. In the years 1980 and 1986, he led the team to the NCAA Championship. On January 7, 1993, he achieved his 500th victory, only Leon Barmore scored the faster in his career. With an overall record of 675-295 as a college coach, he resigned on 2 March 2001.

Since March 9, 1994 he has been a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
