Denton is an international law firm, which was founded by the merger of the international law firm Salans LLP, Fraser Milner Casgrain the Canadian law firm LLP (FMC ) and the international law firm SNR Denton. It includes more than 2,500 professionals in 52 countries.

The name Denton called a global law firm which Salans FMC SNR Denton Europe LLP (known as Denton Europe in the market ), Canada LLP Denton ( Denton Canada), Denton U.S. LLP ( Denton U.S.), Denton UKMEA LLP ( Denton UKMEA ) and Brandt Chan & Partners in Hong Kong ( Denton Asia Pacific ') and shall include each affiliated partner firms.

Firm structure

Denton is a Swiss Verein ( Salans FMC SNR Denton Group (a Swiss Verein) ) structured. He is polycentric: The law firm is led not by a single company headquarters nor a dominant national culture. The company's management is made up of a Global Management Committee, a global management team as well as a Global Board, which is from the Global Chief Executive Officer Elliott Portnoy and Global Chair Joe Andrew, together with a Global Advisory Committee, consisting of another 40 members, led.

History

The individual management of firms Salans, FMC and SNR Denton said on November 8, 2012 from a candidate recommendation to its partners, which advocated the creation of a new global law firm. This announcement was followed by a global media coverage with articles, among others, in The Lawyer, Globe and Mail, The American Lawyer, Financial Post and the Washington Post.

On November 28, 2012 declared the three firms that the merger to Denton was confirmed by all three partnerships.

This merger was published on March 28, 2013 and effective on April 2, 2013.
