Denys Yurchenko

Denys Yurchenko (Ukrainian Денис Юрченко, English transcription Denys Yurchenko, . Born January 27, 1978 in Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian pole vaulter.

Career

In 2000 he was national champion, beating his boyhood idol Serhiy Bubka. At the Olympic Games in Sydney, his staff met his groin, so he had to be hospitalized.

Although injuries made ​​him in the next few years to create, he was sixth at the European Championships in Munich in 2002 and the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis and won the bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest in 2004.
