Deodat del Monte

Deodaat Delmonte (* March 1582 in Sint- Truiden, † November 24, 1644 in Antwerp) was a Flemish architect, engineer, astronomer, and painter.

Delmonte stayed from 1600 to 1608 in Italy, where he was befriended by Peter Paul Rubens.

In 1608 he settled as a master in the Antwerp guild enroll book, and was a member of the Guild of St. Luke. He entered the service of Philip Ludwig, and was knighted by him. He also worked for the King of Spain as an engineer.

From his paintings only a transfiguration of Christ in the Museum of Antwerp is known.
