Deoxyguanosine triphosphate
2'- deoxyguanosine -5'-triphosphate
Template: Infobox chemical / molecular formula search available
Deoxyguanosine triphosphate ( dGTP ) is one of four blocks of the nucleic acid is DNA. It is composed of a deoxyribose, the base guanine and a triphosphate group.
Biosynthesis
The deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates are synthesized in the cell as an energy- rich compounds of the 2'- deoxyribonucleotide - 5'-monophosphate, by two successive phosphorylation with ATP as the phosphate group donor.
Function
DGTP is one of four building blocks of DNA. The genetic code of the DNA derived from the sequence of the bases of these devices. Since the base of dGTP is the guanosine, this module encodes the G of this code.
