Deportes Savio

Deportes Savio is a Honduran football club based in Santa Rosa de Copan. Currently the club plays in the first Honduran league, the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras. The club colors are red and white. Play their home games at the Estadio Club Miraflores, which has 3,000 spectators from. Nickname Deportes Savio are Los Toros Rojos, Los Totoposteros and Los Benjamines.

History

Deportes Savio was founded in 1964 as Atlético Lempira. 1971 they changed their name in Santo Domingo Savio to the insistence of Padre Chavarria, who wanted to integrate the team as part of the Instituto Santo Domingo Savio in Santa Rosa de Copan. In 1995, the new board bought the license Deportes Progreseño, a second-rate club and changed the name to Club Deportes Savio.
