Deportivo Lara

Club Deportivo Lara is a Venezuelan football club from Barquisimeto. The club was founded in 2009 and plays its home games at the Estadio Metropolitano de Fútbol de Lara from, which seats 40,300 spectators. CD Lara, the Venezuelan football champions so far once was, is currently playing in La Liga, the top division in Venezuela.

History

Club Deportivo Lara was founded in 2006 as Guaros de Lara FC. The newly founded association was placed in the second Venezuelan football league Segunda División that, and instantly reached in the first season promotion to the Primera División Venezolana, the highest division in football in Venezuela. For the Erstligasaison 2007/ 08 Guaros de Lara FC took the former Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita, World Cup qualifiers in 1990, under contract after this one could persuade three years after his last commitment to make a comeback. With Higuita goal Lara was in the final show a very good fifth place and missed qualification for the Copa Sudamericana 2009 just barely. The following season was for Guaros de Lara but not quite as successful and was completed with the twelfth place in the overall table, while the Torneo Apertura was finished in last place and was only prevented by a strong Clausura season of relegation.

For the 2009/10 season, the club changed its name was called the Club Deportivo Lara, Lara short CD. Under the new name, it immediately ran better and it was achieved the first-time promotion for the Copa Sudamericana by a fourth place in the overall table 2009/10. In the 2010 tournament but it failed in the first round of Independiente Santa Fe from Colombia. Overall, the entire 2010/11 season did not go especially well for CD Lara, also in the league, it was only enough for thirteenth place. But in the following season became Deportivo Lara the most successful team in the Primera División. Both in the Torneo Apertura and in the Torneo Clausura it was after all the game day at the first place in the table. The Apertura is finished with a lead of five points ahead of FC Caracas, it being noted that CD Lara suffered not only loss in the course of the entire season so far. Consequently, CD Lara was also in the overall table of the 2011/12 season in first place and was able to celebrate their first title in club history. Characteristic of the championship season of CD Lara is also possible that the association with Eduardo sarago had a coach who had not even completed his 30th year and is thus one of the youngest coaches in world football.
