Der Volksstaat

The nation state was a Socialist magazine and party organ of the Social Democratic Workers' Party ( SDAP ). She appeared from October 1, 1869 to September 29, 1876. Editor was Wilhelm Liebknecht in Leipzig. The supplement The People's State narrator appeared on December 7, 1873 to December 19, 1875. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels also worked at this newspaper.

In Leipzig treason trial from 11 to March 26, 1872 Wilhelm Liebknecht, August Bebel and Adolf Hepner were ( this as the second editor of The People's State ) accused. Liebknecht and Bebel were sentenced, Hepner acquitted. Hepner was " as innocent as a newborn child ," as Bebel noted.
