Derek Drouin

Derek Drouin (born 6 March 1990 in Sarnia ) is a Canadian high jumper.

In 2010 he was national champion and as a student at Indiana University NCAA champion outdoors and indoors. The following year he defended his NCAA Indoor title.

In 2012 he qualified as a Canadian champion for the Olympic Games in London, where he came to 2.29 m and with Robert Grabarz and Moataz Essa Barshim won the bronze medal.

In his final year as a student, he succeeded in 2013, to be with the indoor and the outdoor title for NCAA record holder in the high jump. At the Prefontaine Classic he presented with a 2.36m national record, and at the World Athletics Championships in Moscow he improved further to 2.38 m, which earned him a bronze medal again.
