Derek Meddings

Derek Meddings ( born January 15, 1931 in London, England; † September 10, 1995 ibid. ) Was a British specialist in special effects and models.

He starred in many James Bond films with and got an Oscar for Superman. For another Oscar for the numerous special effects sequences in space in Moonraker, he was nominated, but moved to "Alien" the shorter. He was also the developer for the special effects of the television series Thunderbirds. In September 1995, he died after completing the filming of Goldeneye from cancer. In the credits of the film is therefore his remembered with the words "to the memory of Derek Meddings ."
