Derek Wong

Derek Wong Zi Liang ( born January 13, 1989 in Singapore ) is a Singaporean badminton player. His father is Wong Shoon Keat, also a successful badminton player.
Career
Derek Wong Zi Liang won in the 2006/2007 season in the individual championships of Singapore all three possible titles. In 2009 he was at the South East Asia Games in fifth in singles. In the Commonwealth Games 2010, he was with the team of his country fourth in the team standings. In men's doubles, he was fourth. In the match for bronze he was defeated with Chayut Triyachart against his countrymen Hendri Saputra and Hendra Wijaya in two sets. In men's singles, he was fifth in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
