DEREVO

The dance theater ensemble DEREVO, Russian "The Tree ", was founded by Anton Adassinski 1988 in Leningrad. Anton Adassinski, which was known as the front man and guitarist of the well-known choreographer in the 80s Russian rock theater AVIA, took over the role of artistic director and lead actor. The founding members were besides Anton Adassinski, Tanja Chabarova, Jelena Yarovaya, Dimitri Tjulpanow, Alexei Merkuschew.

DEREVO has become the " language of the body, the emotions and the soul" prescribed, which was fixed in their so-called manifesto. In contrast to the classical ballet of idiosyncratic expression of dance is characterized in their performances of clowning, pantomime, improvisation, anarchy and chaos. Was inspired by Japanese Butoh DEREVO also. Due to the resulting dramatic force the audience will be captivated by the tension between universal attraction and repulsion.

In addition to participating in numerous festivals DEREVO worked long in Prague, Amsterdam, Florence, since 1997 in Dresden.

DEREVO has received numerous awards, including:

  • Award from the city of Dresden ( 2001)
  • " Berlin Art Prize 2000" by the Academy of Arts Berlin
  • "Golden Mask " in 2007
