Dermott Lennon

Dermott Lennon ( born June 12, 1969 in Banbridge, Northern Ireland ) is an Irish show jumper, who competes for Ireland in international equestrian sport. He lives in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, where he runs with his wife and his brother a riding and stable trade. He has a daughter.

Career

Lennon's parents already had a few ponies. Dermott Lennon decided at the age of 19 years, to go to England and to fully concentrate on the cavalry. After two and a half years, he returned from there and operation of Northern Ireland from the equestrian sport. In 1999, he was, among other things, with the first eight years of Liscalgot, for the first time to take part in international tournaments. In 2001, he won the Irish team the gold medal at the European Show Jumping Championships in Arnhem.

He celebrated his biggest success in 2002 with the surprising winning the World Championship in Jerez on his horse Liscalgot. As a result, he lived for some years in the Netherlands, but then returned back to his hometown.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was unable to attend because Liscalgot injured long term. This injury proved so serious that it was decided to take Liscalgot from active sports.

After the retirement of Liscalgot Lennon was unable to repeat past successes first. Since late 2007, he successfully presents with Hallmark Elite back a horse in international equestrian sport before. With this he was lower in several other Grand Prix in Portugal in the summer of 2009 successfully, the end of February 2010 he reached with Hallmark Elite in third place in the World Cup Standings examination of Gothenburg. The World Cup season 2009/2010 he graduated with a fifth place in the World Cup final with Hallmark Elite.
