Derrick Atkins

Derrick Atkins ( born January 5, 1984 in Nassau ) is a track and field athlete from the Bahamas. His special routes, both the 100 m, and 200 m. Atkins is a 2nd degree cousin of the former 100 -meter world record holder Asafa Powell.

In 2005 he took part in the World Championships in Helsinki and was eliminated in the semifinals there over 100 meters with a time of 11.57 s from. His biggest success was winning the silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. He improved in the final round of the 100m at the same time his personal best to 9.91 s

At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, he was eliminated in the semifinals.
