Deryk Engelland

Deryk Engelland ( born April 3, 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2010 with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Deryk Engelland started his career as a hockey player with the Moose Jaw Warriors, for by 2003 he was active from 1998 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 in the sixth round as the 194th overall player by the New Jersey Devils, for whom he never played, however. Instead, the defender from 2003 to 2005 ran for the Las Vegas Wranglers in the ECHL, and in the season 2003/ 04 in parallel for the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League on. From 2005 to 2007 he was with the Hershey Bears in the AHL under contract, but also came to missions for the South Carolina Stingrays and Reading Royals of the ECHL.

From 2007 to 2010 Engelland playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League and gave for their cooperation partners Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2009/10 season his debut in the National Hockey League. By the end of the season he came in nine NHL games for use, in which he gave two assists. Since the season 2010/11 the Canadians are only playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL.

Due to the NHL lockout played Engelland from mid-October 2012 in Rosenborg in the Norwegian GET - ligaen.
