History

After two years the team moved to the fully professional International Hockey League. Their greatest success was reaching the finals at the Turner Cup in the 1970/71 season, in which they were governed by the Port Huron Flags in the best- of-seven series with 2:4 victories. After they were eliminated in the following season in the first playoff round, the franchise was sold and subsequently took the name Des Moines Capitols part in the game operation of the IHL.
