Descendents

The Descendents are a punk band from California that was founded in 1978. The Descendents are in the scene known for their own style which is often referred to as pop-punk. They were with bands like Dag Nasty and Bad Religion shaped the style Melodic Hardcore.

History

The band consisted initially of three members Tony Lombardo (guitar ), Frank Navetta (bass) and Bill Stevenson (drums). In 1979, they played their first 7 " EP Ride the wild one. Milo Aukerman they found a solid singer with which they their second 7 in 1980 " EP recordings Fat.

Their first album, Milo Goes To College, she published in 1982. According to the subsequent tour, the band members went their separate ways.

Drummer Bill Stevenson played a short time with Black Flag, before the band went back into the studio in 1985 to record their second album I Do not Want to Grow Up. After another album, Enjoy ( 1986), Lombardo and Navetta left the band. They were replaced by Karl Alvarez (bass) and Stephen Egerton ( guitar). With this lineup the Descendents in 1987 took their fourth studio album ALL on.

After a tour, the Descendents parted a second time, because Milo continued his studies in biology. The rest of the band regrouped with Dave Smalley ( DYS, Dag Nasty ), and as ALL released his next album. 1996 was Milo back to tape and the Descendents released the album Everything Sucks at Epitaph Records.

After another long year break, in which the band (this time with Chad Price on vocals ) further made ​​again as ALL, the Descendents came back together in 2004 and released the album on Fat Wreck Chords Cool To Be You and the EP merican '.
