Desmond Mason

Desmond Tremaine Mason ( born October 11, 1977 in Waxahachie, Texas ) is a former American professional basketball player. He was also referred to as so-called swingman, meaning he could not only be used as a shooting guard, but also as a small forward.

When NBA Draft 2000, he was drafted at # 17 out of Oklahoma State University to the Seattle SuperSonics. He was appointed to the NBA All - Rookie Second Team in 2001. In the third year NBA Mason came to 14.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists with the Sonics before he was traded in 2003, along with Gary Payton to the Milwaukee Bucks for Ray Allen and Ronald Murray. Here he played three good years and scored in the 2004-05 season with 17.2 points per game his best career value. On 26 October 2005, he joined, in exchange for Jamaal Magloire to the Hornets. His last NBA stations were again the Bucks, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings.

In 2001, he managed to win the first Sonics player in the history of the franchise, the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

In addition to his skills on the basketball floor, he is a trained artist and actor.
