Line barbel ( Desmopuntius johorensis )

The line barbel ( Desmopuntius johorensis ( Syn: Puntius johorensis, Puntius eugrammus & Barbus fasciatus, Bleeker, 1853) ) is a freshwater fish of the carp family (Cyprinidae ). Their range extends from the Malay Peninsula through Singapore to Sumatra and Borneo. It was named after the Malay Johor region.

Features

The line bar is 12 inches long. Your body is much elongated than that of most other Puntius species. Way of life

The line bar is found in small forest streams and rivers, and usually stays in the vicinity of the lake bed. It feeds on zooplankton, insect larvae, worms, crustaceans and plant material.
