The Rhombenbarbe ( Desmopuntius rhomboocellatus ( Synonyms: Barbus kahajani Hoedeman, 1956 & Barbus tetrazona, Bleeker, 1856, Puntius rhomboocellatus, Systomus rhomboocellatus ) ) is a freshwater fish of the carp family (Cyprinidae ). It is endemic only in the south of the Indonesian island of Kalimantan in the rivers Kapuas and Kahayan and around Banjarmasin ago.

Features

The Rhombenbarbe is seven inches long. Your body is the species typical of Desmopuntius species and laterally only slightly flattened. Their color is reddish, the back is brownish to greenish, sides silvery shimmer. The body sides are through some dark, often diamond-shaped and then a bright center having transverse bars Eyed Susans, the first through the eye. The last cross is binding on the tail fin shaft. A black spot is located below the last dorsal fin rays, another that is visible only from below, between the pelvic fins. The fins are colorless, only the first dorsal fin ray is black.
