Dessert

A dessert (even dessert, dessert) is a mostly sweet ( " sweet " ), cold or hot dish that is usually served in European cuisine with a multi-course menu after the main course and possibly the cheese plate.

Known desserts are for example:

  • Pudding / custard
  • Jelly
  • Tiramisu
  • Cakes / pies
  • Crêpes
  • Compote
  • Fruits
  • Crème
  • Ice cream / ice cream ( Swiss German or French)
  • Biscuits
  • Junket

A dessert wine is often (eg ice ) offered as a drink to dessert.

After the meal is occasionally coffee or tea ( to overcome the tiredness after eating) or a digestif ( to aid digestion effect ) passed, but these are not part of the menu in the true sense.
