Destry

Destry is a commune with 88 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Grostenquin. Mayor ( Maire ) since 2001 Émile Maujean. Destry is a member of the Communauté de communes du Centre Mosellan.

Geography

Destry is between Faulquemont and Château -Salins, approximately 35 line kilometers south-east of Metz at an altitude 237-307 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.93 km ².

Neighboring municipalities are Suisse, Landroff, Baronville, Achain, Marthille and Brulange.

History

The town was first mentioned in 777 and received the town rights in the year 966 during the Thirty Years' War Destry was destroyed and rebuilt from 1660.
