Determiner phrase

A Determinansphrase ( DP) in newer versions of generative grammar, a phrase whose head is a Determinans ( determiner, determinative ) " DET ".

One of the representatives of the Determinansphrase is Abney. According to him ( adjective ) noun or a stand-alone pronoun, the combination products a Determinansphrase.

Then, for example, is a phrase like the little doll as a whole has no noun phrase (NP ), consisting of an article ( the ), an adjective (small ) and a head noun ( doll ), but represents a Determinansphrase (DP ), which in a Determinans (D) as a head and a noun phrase (NP ) is to dissect:

[DP [D the ] [ NP small doll ] ]

A personal pronouns such as I would then be analyzed as:

[DP [D i ] ]
