Detlev Blanke

Detlev Blanke (* May 30, 1941 in Neumünster) is a lecturer in International Linguistics at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

After his studies and work as a teacher of German and geography, he earned his doctorate in 1976 and completed in 1985, the thesis B ( in the GDR common name for Habilitation ). He founded the Society for interlinguistics and was its chairman from 1991 to 2010. His special interest is the linguistic study of the development process from the language project for language, especially the example of the planned language Esperanto, terminological and sociolinguistic issues. Among others, he has dealt with the work of Eugen Wüster for the international terminology standards and the role of Esperanto in the labor movement of the 20th century.

From 1970 to 1990 he was editor of the esperantist, which issued in GDR Esperanto magazine. He has also held other functions in the DDR Esperanto Association, including the secretary.
