Detroit Auto Club

The Detroit Auto Club was an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Detroit, Michigan. The venue of the Auto Club was the Olympic Stadium.

History

The Detroit Auto Club was founded in 1945 as a franchise of the International Hockey League, where he was one of four founding members. Equal in their first season, the team from the Motor City Detroit could win the Turner Cup after their city rivals Detroit Bright's Goodyears beat in the final in the best-of -three series 2-1. Then the Auto Club could not build on this success. Although it was in the 1949/50 season once again second in the regular season, but the franchise was not until its dissolution in 1951 in the final of the Turner Cup.
